Rebel Gems: Labradorite Morphology

Description

The morphology of a labradorite.
Labradorites are distinctive for their rather avian features, which rival those of even a pearl. Their skin (save for the scalp) is almost completely devoid of body hair, and their head hair is actually composed of filaments resembling a sort of hard-light equivalent to pycnofibres. These "pycnofibres" transform into a ruffled, emu-like integument upon corruption. They also blink with their lower eyelids rather than their upper ones, and they can shield their eyes using a protective nictitating membranes. Labradorites have wide, round heads with small foward-facing eyes that are rather far apart compared to the eyes of most other gems, which unfortunately gives labradorites an obvious blind spot that lies at the very center of the face, where the nose would normally be in most other gems. Their teeth (save for their incisors) are sharp and pointed.

Labradorites are relatively well-built, and while their broad chests heavily contrast with their frail-looking arms, it doesn't seem to effect their upper body strength in any sort of way. Labradorites were designed to be noble, strong and powerful knights. This is reflected by their wide chests, which give them a distinctive regal and triumphant-looking silhouette.
